A girlfriend of mine asked me to throw her a bridal shower. I was totally thrilled she asked but of course I’m young and on a budget like most of us so I couldn’t get carried away. Truth be told, I grew up with a mom who is a professional party thrower. She knows every trick in the book and goes all out but because I don’t have access to her funds, I had to get crafty – which I love to do anyway!
I spent about two hours in Michael’s imaging what I could do. And I’ll be the first to tell you – Michael’s had it all! The most helpful brand was by “Brides.” They even package their goods with awesome ideas. I got to thinking about the bride – she’s classic. That said, I wanted to have timeless decorations with a lot of soft edges, both in color and in texture. The shower would take place at a restaurant on the outdoor patio in sunny Manhattan Beach.
Its mid-march and I’m not crazy about a lot of the flowers i’m seeing – four leaf clovers anyone?! No thanks! It was Baby’s Breath that really caught my eye for the early Spring shower! Now that I had the flower, I decided to decorate mason jars for each place setting to use as a mini-vase. Then, I cut up a bundle of baby’s breath and included a “chalkboard-on-a-stick” in the middle of this arrangement, inclusive of each girl’s name. This was an amazing tip by the Brides collection! My new favorite craft materials are: Mason Jar, a roll of burlap, some ribbon and a glue gun! Have fun
